Adaptable Legal Advocacy On Your Side LET'S GET STARTED

Silver State Off-Road Alliance

Aug. 6, 2021

Paul is pleased to announce the formal launch of the Silver State Off-Road Alliance (SSORA). We are a non-profit advocacy group (IRS 501 (c)(4)) established to educate and coordinate efforts on behalf of off-road recreationists in Nevada. SSORA received a generous grant from the Nevada OHV Commission this year to jump start our efforts. SORRA's mission is to help establish new and maintain existing trails through responsible stewardship, as well as ensure access to our public lands. SSORA will provide individual enthusiasts, clubs and established organizations with education, training and support related to protecting and enhancing recreational opportunities. Our focus will be assisting off-road groups as they navigate the maze of regulations, laws, government agencies and land managers in accomplishing real-world results.

SSORA will also operate as a liaison with other stakeholders whose actions impact outdoor recreation. Through its affiliated organization Great Basin Policy Partners (GBPP), we will act as a centralized and effective voice for the off-road community with our local, state and federal policymakers who govern the use of our public lands. When there is a problem SSORA has the connections and legal expertise to help resolve the most complex and difficult issues. We are actively involved in discussions and provide comments around the many public lands bills being proposed throughout the State that could impact motorized access to thousands of acres of public lands.

We are currently finalizing our Governing Board which will have representatives from not only the OHV community, but retailers and industry representatives; national NGOs; land use experts; and, non-motorized recreationists. With a diverse constituency, we hope that we can work through issues related to off-road use, access and land stewardship at the ground level. Please join us in our efforts.

Our office is located in Reno, Nevada at 216 E. Liberty Street. We will be having a formal “open house” as the current public health concerns subside. Our website is up at www.ssora.org where you can learn more about our efforts, sign up for a membership or send questions directly to our Board. We look forward to your participation and support.
